PASSIVE SEGMENTS
Passive segments are the way to retrieve a reservation generated in another system in Amadeus and thus be able to work with it. These passive segments can be used for both individual reservations and group reservations. It is VERY IMPORTANT that we transcribe the names provided to the airline exactly as the airline has entered them in its system. If we do not do so, the reservation will be automatically cancelled, skipping the flight segment in UC status and we will not be able to work on it. Here is an example:

Now we have created a PNR in Amadeus with which we are going to work exactly the same as with a "normal" PNR.
There is a way to create a PNR using passive segments in a slightly faster and easier way, it would be through prior availability:
SN20AUGISTASR/ATK
** AMADEUS SCHEDULES - SN ** ASR KAYSERI.TR 123 TH 20AUG 0000
1 TK2022 C4 D4 Z0 K4 J4 I4 R4 /IST ASR 0105 0240 E0/321 Y9

RP/MADI00000/
1 TK2018 Y 20AUG 4 ISTASR PK1 2120 2255 TYUIOP
TELETYPE WILL BE SENT FOR PASSIVE BOOKING TO:- TK
SEE RTSVC
...And we would continue with the creation of a passive PNR in the usual way, but much more quickly and with less possibility of error.
For group reservations, there are airlines that use passive segments for the creation of PNRs and subsequent issuance (Turkish airlines, for example), the procedure is exactly the same, the only difference is that we must enter a group name NG and a segment SR GRPF where we will indicate the amount of the fare, I show you an example:
SSTK1858 V 03SEP MADIST PK20/T80032
SSTK1859 V 10SEP ISTMAD PK20/T80032
NG20GROUP / EXAMPLE
AP MAD 910000000
TKTL18AUG
SR GRPF TK - FARE 200 EUR
ER
IMPORTANT: Please note that when entering names, you must do it EXACTLY THE SAME way the airline entered them into its system (TIP: copy and paste).
The PNR CLAIM
The PNR CLAIM is a function that is used to recover in Amadeus a reservation that has been created in another different system. Once recovered, the reservation can be worked on perfectly in Amadeus. In addition, if the Airline allows this function, we will avoid having to create the passive segments that we have just seen. The transaction is very simple:
RO LA XRTMPR
RO Transaction PNR Claim
LA Airline Code
XRTMPR Airline Locator.
At that moment we will see the Airline's PNR data in our Amadeus, provided that the Airline has opened the reservation security for our agency.Afterwards we simply have to save and close and we will have generated an Amadeus locator to work with this reservation.
ET If when trying to access the reservation we get this error, it is because the Airline has NOT yet opened access to the reservation:
I assure you that you will use these procedures often in your dealings with the Agency's Air Department. Therefore, it is important that you know them
